Dr. Rashbaum is a physiatrist at the world-renowned Rusk Rehabilitation at NYU Langone Medical Center which is ranked as one of the top 10 rehabilitation medicine programs in the United States. As of 2017, he is the Chief of Tension Myoneural Syndrome and Mind-Body Medicine.


Dr. Rashbaum is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at New York University School of Medicine Langone Medical Center and served has the Medical Director of Stroke Rehabilitation at Rusk from 2005 through 2016. He is now the  Chief of Tension Myoneural Syndrome  and Mind-Body Medicine.

Dr. Rashbaum is a leader in the field of mind-body pain disorders who studied and worked for over 20 years with Dr. John E. Sarno who pioneered the unique approach to diagnose and treat Tension Myoneural Syndrome (TMS). Tension Myoneural Syndrome used to be called Tension Myositis Syndrome. Dr. Rashbaum has had more direct clinical and research exposure to Dr. Sarno than any other TMS physician in the world.
